Windows… ULTIMATE **falls out of chair**

Windows Vista[Dave/Scott]
Recommended Reading:Windows Vista Packages Announced.” Media Center PC World. 19 Feb. 2006.

First Marvel, now Microsoft? This is just silly. I'm curious on what it's supposed to do. I guess I'll Google it sometime.
There are a couple of business editions and then the daddy of all operating systems - Windows Vista Ultimate. This OS will contain everything from Home Premium as well as the business editions.

Apple[Dave/Scott]
Recommended Reading:Malicious worm aims to bite Apple.” BBC News. 17 Feb. 2006.

Welcome to the jungle, Apple-Fags! **regains composure, breathes** I figured it was only a matter of time until viruses and worms would be made to mess with Apple OS. Now if more important business and government entities begin using Macs as their main source of computers I’m sure there’ll be a sharp increase in malicious code for the OS. Do note that I understand fully that this is just a small, low-threat worm. Here’s some snippets from the article linked above:
Mac users are being warned to be on the lookout for what is being called one of the first viruses for Apple computers.

"Mac users cannot keep thinking that they are invulnerable to these threats."

Letter of Recommendation

[Dave/Scott]
During my time at Georgia Tech I've had the pleasure of learning from Professor Endicott for about two years. Last month he managed to find some time to write up a letter of recommendation for me despite myself having to ask on such short notice. I've decided to display the letter on here, though I've edited these uploaded page scans to exclude contact information and signatures. A lot of my friends who have seen this already seemed to get a laugh out of the letter saying that I have a “working moral compass.” If you can't read the letter, click on it and it'll take you to a page where you can enlarge it.

Metallica + Rick Rubin = ?

Metal up your ass![Dave/Scott]
Famed producer Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, Slayer, etc.) is slated to produce Metallica’s upcoming album. The surprising thing here is Bob Rock, the band’s producer for the last six albums or so, isn’t behind the knobs on this one, much to the elation of his nay-sayers. The last album saw the return of relatively complex riffing despite the use of a drop D style tuning (common amongst rock and metal bands due to easier power chord play, usually leading to rather uninteresting instrumental). Maybe this new CD will mark the return of solos? I kind of missed them in St. Anger.

Not only did the poor guy get shot by the US vice-president, he later suffers a heart attack because some of the birdshot still in his body lodged near his heart. Talk about bad luck or a well orchestrated White House hit. I think the funny thing is that Jack said that he's more likely to vote for Cheney again because of this incident. I’ve pasted a snippet of the article below:
HOUSTON (Reuters) - The Texas lawyer accidentally shot by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney during a weekend quail hunt suffered a minor heart attack on Tuesday when some of the birdshot still in his body lodged near his heart, a hospital spokesman said.

About damned time...[Dave/Scott]
It’s about damned time. I spent five years wasting away in that school for this piece of paper. You’d think they’d have the decency to send it out in a decent time frame, if not onstage. It finally feels nice to know that I’m finally free of needing anything from this school. Dad told me last week that I could've gotten in-state tuition in Hawaii. I wish I would've known that five years ago. All A's and the beach? I'd take that over GT any day.

Back… Again

Hottie of the Moment: Elisha Cuthbert[Dave/Scott]
Two 15 hour flights in a little over a week can be rough, trust me. This is especially so if you don’t choose the right seats. I always go for aisle exit seats since they afford you the most leg room. Sure, there’s that added responsibility but I figure if the plane crashes, you’re most likely to be dead along with everyone else, anyway. Korea was nothing special, just constantly below freezing for most of my days there. My laptop’s screen decided to stop functioning again by the time I got there so I was stuck being somewhat bored with a 15 lb. paper weight to carry around in my backpack. My brother’s friend had loaned him the first season of 24, which I watched in its entirety in a couple days. Twenty four hours of TV must be a new record for me since I don’t watch it much at all under normal circumstances. I didn’t know that hottie from The Girl Next Door was on that show.

I need to get back to work on searching for employment. It might help that Dr. Endicott (recent Nobel Prize nominee, 7th out of 199) finally finished a letter of recommendation for me. The prof’s been too kind to me the last two years that I’ve known him.

Going Home

Hottie of the Moment: Grace Park[Dave/Scott]
My mother’s birthday is on the fifth, so I’ve decided to catch a flight home and surprise her. The $1500 ticket was quite the hit in the bank, but I’ll have nearly another 14,000 frequent flyer miles to add to the 90,000 I’ve still got pooled up. It’ll also be a nice change of pace, especially since I haven’t seen my family in over a year.
